

Biography
Sina Saloor is an Iranian composer whose music explores the micro perspectives of structural textures of Iranian Classical Music. His work aims to integrate these detailed elements into contemporary musical expressions, drawing inspiration from the theories of Mohammad E. Jafari (1940 - 2018), a distinguished Iranian contemporary artist and scholar, renowned for his influential contributions to specific fields including visual arts, music, and philosophy.
Sina has been honored with several prestigious awards and scholarships, including the Royal Northern College of Music Entrance Scholarship (2024), the Waverly Fund Scholarship (2023), the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Award (2023), and the Trinity Laban Entrance Scholarship (2023). Additionally, he has been named a finalist in the 2024 Royal Northern College of Music Gold Medal Competition. In 2022, he achieved first place in the Master’s Degree Entrance Examination (Kunkur) for Composition and second place in the Musical Arts category. His compositions have been performed internationally and broadcast by BBC Radio 6’s Freak Zone Playlist. He has collaborated with renowned ensembles, including the BBC Singers workshops and RNCM Brand-New Ensembles, among others.
Sina’s portfolio reflects a broad spectrum of genres, ranging from solo pieces to large ensemble compositions and electronics. His recent compositions include Between Two Explosions: Second Explosion: "Commit Flight to Memory for the Bird is Mortal", a concerto for trio and orchestra; Sama - bahr-e Tavil, for string trio; Raz-o Niaz, for piano duo; A Faded and Shaky Square on a Light Grey Background, for wind quintet; and Between Two Explosions: First Explosions, a concertino for string trio and string ensemble.
He earned his undergraduate degree in Music-Iranian Classical Music, with a focus on the Santour, from the University of Tehran. Currently, he is a scholar at the Royal Northern College of Music, pursuing advanced studies in composition under the esteemed guidance of Larry Goves and Steven Daverson.
